If you exceed this limit, you have lost. The best possible combination is 21 points with two cards: Ace and 10 (Jack / Queen / King). This combination is called blackjack. After collecting it, you will receive a 50% bonus, the game uses one to eight decks of cards, each of which consists of 52 cards.
First the player places his bet, after which two cards are dealt – to him and to the dealer. One of the dealer’s cards is opened and the second is discarded face down. It is known as the “hole card”. When an up card has a face value of 10 or 11 points, the dealer has the right to check if he has blackjack.
If the dealer’s up card is an ace, the player has the right to take out insurance against blackjack. If the dealer collects blackjack, the player receives 2: 1 insurance but the original bet is lost. If, after two cards are dealt, neither the player nor the dealer has scored 21 points (blackjack), the player has several options to continue the game.
Remember that the game uses 1 to 8 decks of 52 cards, which affects the likelihood of a particular card being drawn.
Many casinos also offer to play blackjack with only virtual money, i.e. without becoming familiar with the game without real stakes.
You have probably heard of the phenomenon of gambling addiction. Strictly speaking, the person concerned is not addicted to the game, but rather to the neurotransmitters that the brain releases en masse in the game situation. The game stimulates this neurophysiological phenomenon known as “endorphin thunderstorm”.
It’s normal to be ecstatic when you win. It’s also normal to be angry or frustrated when losing. Here a deliberate imbalance is taking place in brain chemistry that we normally experience as extreme. It becomes difficult when someone has the desire or even develops the need to turn “extreme” into “normal”. Then there is a risk of addiction. Usually this happens slowly. Absolutely every gambling addict probably thought at the beginning that this could never happen to him or her, after all you have yourself under control. That is exactly the biggest trap.
So if you notice that you no longer want to play a round of blackjack, but have to now, for example to compensate for a frustration or to feel better, give yourself a long break in your own interest. If you discover the first signs of addiction, please contact trained therapists or appropriate self-help groups. Manifest gambling addiction is not only annoying and difficult for those around you, it directly and indirectly endangers your health and can have an existential impact.
